Maintenance Downtime from 18th March 2023 (08:00 PM) to 20th March 2023 (7:30 AM)

by John Sushil Packiaraj 14491 -

Dear Moodle Users,

We have been planning to upgrade our server infrastructure to provide you with the best possible experience. We are pleased to announce that the hardware set-up is complete for this upgrade and our CTS team is now ready to offer us a faster, more reliable service.

However, to make this happen, we need to schedule downtime during which the infrastructure will not be accessible. After careful consideration, we have decided that the upcoming weekend, from 18th March 2023 (08:00 PM) to 20th March 2023 (7:30 AM), is the best time for this maintenance work.

We understand that this may cause inconvenience, and we apologize for any disruption to your work. To minimise the impact of this downtime, we recommend that you plan your submissions in advance and avoid any deadlines during this period. We assure you that we will do our best to complete the upgrade as quickly as possible and minimise any disruption to your service.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this important upgrade. We remain committed to providing you with the best possible service and appreciate your continued support.

With Regards,

The Moodle Support Team

Moodle 4.1 is live

by John Sushil Packiaraj 14491 -

Dear Moodle Users,

Happy New Year 2023.

We thank you for your patience during the maintenance downtime of the server.  Besides an upgrade to the core, there have been many updates as an upgrade to PHP 8+, a more pleasing visual interface among others.

During this downtime, we extensively tested the system's different aspects and found it works satisfactorily.  You will need to purge your cache of all the old javascript and CSS, in case you are not finding the pages loading or if things look funny.

We have thoroughly enjoyed Moodle 4.0, and have been observing its development for about 2.5 years.  The interface is intuitive and pleasing.  Please familiarise yourself with the layout.  You will find the web interface better than the Moodle App, and we highly recommend you use the same.

You should be able to access the site from 6:30 PM today (02 - Dec - 2023).

With Regards,

The Moodle Support Team
